Ventura County 4-H Uniform Guidelines

If a 4-H member chooses to wear a uniform, here are some guidelines to follow:

State 4-H does not require a uniform for any 4-H sponsored events

slacks white or green

skirt white or green

blouse or shirt white, long or short sleeve

4-H scarf Female members wear this scarf with 2 - 1¾" 4-H emblems sewn on the back corners. A ring is used to fasten the collar together at the neck.

4-H tie Male members wear this green tie with a 4-H emblem on it.

4-H hat green for members through the 8th grade, white for members in the 9th grade and above

shoes or boots Clean black, white, or brown shoes or boots.

belt If slacks have loops, a belt of the same color as footwear must be worn

Equine and large and small livestock fitting and showmanship entrants are required by some county fair boards to wear their representative uniforms (i.e.: 4-H and FFA). Please see annual competition guide for complete rules in individual classes.

The 4-H uniform should always be neat and clean. Long pants and boots are recommended around large livestock. Long sleeves and minimal or no jewelry are recommended around small livestock. Sandals and flip-flops are not recommended for any events!

REMEMBER: 4-H uniforms are not required for membership in 4-H
