Phil A. Phillips is an integrated pest management (IPM) advisor for the University of California Cooperative Extension and the U.C. IPM Project. He is responsible for promoting and securing the adoption of pest management programs in citrus, avocados, strawberries, grapes, and vegetables through extension and adaptive research. He has held this position with the University of California since 1980, during which time he has conducted numerous adaptive research projects and extension programs including the development of several UC IPM manuals as technical advisor, co-author, and contributor. His outreach efforts put him in contact with many farmers at the edge of urban areas. Dr. Phillips received both his B.S. and his Ph.D. in entomology from UC Riverside.
